Knee arthrosis - gonartrrosis

Women suffer from knee joint arthrosis more often than men. Arthrosis usually develops after forty years, although sometimes there are cases of "young" gonarthrosis - after injuries or between professional athletes.

The heavier arthrosis of knee joints is the most difficult in complete women, as well as in those who have a strong varicose veins in the legs.

The disease begins gradually, with minor knee pain when walking. The hardest thing for patients is given to descent or climbing the stairs. Even the pain usually occurs when a person needs to leave a sitting position (from a chair or a bed) - the first steps are usually the most painful. So if you differ, knee pain is slightly reduced. But with a long walk and then the pain returns again.

At rest, sitting and lying down, the pain usually passes. The initial pain for knee joint arthrosis does not occur "in a second, " that is, they do not appear immediately, in one day. The period of intense pain in gonarthrosis is almost necessarily preceded by a period of multiple or even perennial pains that occur exclusively with long walks, carrying, climbing the stairs or getting up from the chair.

If the pain arose sharply, one day or, in addition, in a second, but before there was no knee pain, it usually indicates some other disease or damage. For example, to pinch the meniscus, violation of the synovial shell of the joint or the scam between the cartilage cartilage of the cartilage (Excitual body cartilage).

However, with gonarthrosis, these problems may also occur and then they will complicate the arthrosis course, add sharp pain. And then knee arthrosis will have to be treated, taking into account the above complications. But initially, the diagnosis of "knee joint arthrosis" is confirmed precisely by the gradual development of pain symptoms.

The first stage of knee articulation arthrosis

Despite the times, the intensive pain, at first, in the first stage of gonarthrosis, knee bones maintain their original shape and are hardly deformed. But the joint itself may seem a little swollen.

This change in the form of the joint at first can be associated with a synovitis (synovitis is an accumulation in the knee of a pathological fluid).

Knee pain in osteochondrosis

If the fluids in the joint are too "gains", it spreads to the back of the knee to the popliteal fossa area. Such liquid accumulation is called Baker cyst. The term "baker cyst" usually scares patients, as the name takes many people to the idea that we are talking about the cancer process. However, this state has nothing to do with oncology and tumors. Baker's cyst is just a term that means fluid accumulation in the knee. Sometimes, by accumulating a lot of this liquid, it breaks under the knee and below - on the back of the leg. But even in this case, nothing terrible happens: Baker cyst is usually easily reduced under the influence of anti -inflammatory drugs or the introduction of knee hormonal medications. Consequently, the Baker cyst needs to be treated. But in no case you need not operate it!

The second stage of arthrosis of the knee articulation

In the second stage of gonarthrosis, a few months later, since the beginning of the disease, knee pain becomes clearly stronger. The pain already occurs from the minimum load or immediately after it.

That is, the pain is now caused by almost any movement in the affected knee. But especially the knee hurts after a long and long load, using weights to small.

After a very long rest, the pain usually goes completely, but during the next movement, it occurs immediately again.

At the same time, a crisis in the knee articulation during movements is added to pain. It differs significantly in almost audible clicks, occasionally following individual movements of healthy joints.

As the disease advances, this crisis, first expresses, becomes more audible and distinct.

I want to emphasize once again: There is no need to confuse an approximate arthritic crisis in the joint, almost always accompanied by pain, with a harmless crisis of joints that occur in some healthy people and not accompanied by pain.

The cruel without joint pain can only be a consequence of the weak ligament apparatus, or a consequence of excessive joint mobility or other individual characteristics in the joint structure in a given person. Normally, this smooth crisis threatens nothing, has no negative consequences and does not increase the risk of joint disease in the future. Knee articulation arthrosis, arthritis, meniscus damage, etc.

Parallel to the strengthening of Cryst's pain and appearance, in the second stage of gonarthrosis, the ability to bend the knee leg decreases. When trying to double the "to stop" knee, there is acute joint pain and, more often, total knee flexion becomes simply impossible. Sometimes the knee is folded only to a 90 -degree corner and then follows the difficulty and pain.

At the same stage of the disease, it is noticeable that the joint is deformed - first of all, this applies to bone deformations, changes in the shape of joint bones (when feeling the knee, you may notice that your bones have changed shape, became as if they were wider and "rude").

In addition, the change in the form of the joint is aggravated by the accumulation in the pathological fluid joint (synovitis). Synovitis in this phase of gonarthrosis happens much more often and sometimes expressed much more than at the beginning of the disease at its first stage.

The third stage of arthrosis of the knee articulation

In the third stage of gonarthrosis, knee pain in the knee is even more intensified. Now the knee hurts not only when moving and walking. The pain begins to disturb a person, even at rest. It is difficult for the patient to find a convenient position in bed, organize an affected knee so that it does not hurt. And yet finding the right position, a person can usually fall asleep. Although, if joint destruction is combined with circulatory disorders, the joints begin to "twist" in the middle of the night, usually when changing the climate or, like the patients themselves, "rain".

Knee joint mobility at this time is reduced to a minimum. The knee is already completely impossible to double stronger than 90 degrees. And sometimes the knee hardly folds. In addition, the opportunity usually disappears to the end, that is, straightening the leg. In this case, a sick person walks in slightly folded legs all the time.

Compared to the second stage, at the third stage of joint gonarthrosis, the joint is even more deformed and, in some cases, "variable" or "valgus" leg deformation, legs acquire an or shaped shape of X. As a result, people with similar legs of the legs are usually unstable.
